This cigar box is inspired by Sunny Beach in Galveston, TX
I used to enjoy going down to Galveston to spend the morning on the beach. I would get there at first light and would have my hula hoop and feet in the surf by the time the sun poked her face over the water.
I wanted the wood texture to show through the paint so I didn’t prime the box.
I added drops of resin on the inside of the glass to mimic raindrops.
I love quietly sitting in my car and watching the rain fall on my windshield. I become mesmerized by how the drops collect and streak down, its cohesive properties weakened by gravity.
