If I could be anywhere, it would be somewhere on a tropical island listening to the waves lapping the shore. It’s been 28 years since I was fortunate enough to visit Kauai, but the memories are still as vivid as the sunsets.
I sculpted the mountains using paper clay, then blocked in some color
I added real sand for the beach and used resin to create the water. First, I did one layer of resin and painted mid tones on top. Then I added another layer of resin and painted highlights on top. I then used some Mod Podge and toilet paper to create the waves.
I finished the sky and added some color to the mountains to bring out the texture.
