Depth of My Depression

I find myself questioning everything lately. I think I’m having a mid life crisis.  I question being an artist, I question my choices, I question being alive.  I have no answers, so I guess I’ll just draw.

Neritic Zone

Sunlight reaches all the way to the ocean floor and the majority of marine life exists in this zone, it is also the most colorful.

Epipelagic Zone

This is the upper part of the ocean where alga thrives and reaches down to about 200m (650ft)

Mesopelagic Zone

Also known as the middle or twilight zone, because it lies between the photic and aphotic zones.

Bathypelagic Zone

The name comes from the Greek, meaning deep and extends for a depth of 1,000 to 4,000m.

Abyssopelagic Zone

At depths of 3,000 to 6,000m, this zone remains in perpetual darkness. It covers 83% of the total area of the ocean and 60% of Earth’s surface.

Hadopelagic Zone

This is the deepest part of our oceans, known as the trenches, and goes from 6,000 to 11,000m.

Challenger Deep, in the Mariana Trench, is the deepest known point and is located near Guam.

I have always found myself drawn to the ocean.  Get it?

I added a few Easter eggs to this piece you’ll have to ask if you want to know.
