Saint Bob Ross

Saint Bob Ross, patron saint to happy little artists everywhere, beating the devil out of his brush

I grew up watching The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross on PBS… good memories.  I like how he made little stories up, as he went along, of the elements he painted and how it was all positive.  He was a gentle soul with a love for nature, rescuing many squirrels.

I’m taking a break from 2D paintings and switching to 3D.  I’ve been wanting to work on my cigar box collection and now seems like a good time.  I’m upping my game with what’s going inside them and even had pieces of glass cut to protect all the delicate elements, especially from dust.  I don’t like dust, I don’t like dusting, I don’t like art that collects dust in all its nooks and crannies.

I of course had to add happy little mountains and happy little clouds for the background

I used polymer clay to create Bob and the squirrel.  I cut up one of my old paint brushes to create this tiny one.

I used model railroad scenery supplies, some of it I’ve had for over 30 years, to create the mound.

Matte acrylic paint was used to paint everything, including the scared little devil running away.
