James Webb Space Telescope

I watched the launch and as the James Webb Space Telescope left Earth’s atmosphere.

I watched the miles tick down as the telescope reached its orbit a million miles away and I watched as each step of its unfolding was deployed.

And now I eagerly wait for the images to be shared.

Each of its 18 mirrors were successfully aligned with the first images due July 12, 2022.

The JWST was built to replace Hubble, which can only see in visible light and has limited how far back we can look.
