    • Time Bandits

    In 1981 I saw a movie that left quite the impression on my seven year old little mind.  Time Bandits is a British fantasy film co-written, produced and directed by Terry Gilliam, of Monty Python fame.

    The Process

    I started by using Super Sculpey to sculpt the giant.

    People are not my thing, so the giant was a challenge for me to sculpt.  Thank you YouTube!

    Making sure he fits in the box
    I used paper clay, wood and cardstock for the ship
    Then I primed it black
    I use matte acrylics to add color and pastels to weather it
    Lastly I made sails using tea bags and added rigging
    Making sure things fit together
    I painted the box to mimic the movie poster

    I used epoxy resin to create the water and Mod Podge to mimic the waves.

     

    I glued the ship on the giant’s head after the water was cured.

    Lastly, I added a piece of glass to protect the delicate sculpture inside and framed the glass
